What is a Broken Lease? A Broken Lease is anything that you did not comply with in the lease. Moving out without giving the required notice is the most common.
A Broken Lease is the third worst thing that you can have when it comes to qualifying for an apartment. Only evictions and felonies are worse than Broken Leases. A Broken Lease say’s to the new landlord that you broke your promise to your previous landlord. And now you are asking the new landlord to trust you.
If you have a Broken Lease it must be:
At least 1-year-old if it is paid in full with a $0 balance or
At least 2-year-old if you owe money.
